Andy Bell is best known as the frontman for the enduring electropop duo Erasure.

An openly gay man, Andy has become an icon within the LGBT community for his honesty, compassion and support. Among his tireless support of various LGBT causes Andy has served as an ambassador for New York’s Hetrick-Martin Institute and patron of the Cambridge-based charity Dhiverse.

Andy recently starred in a sold out run of Torsten The Beautiful Libertine at Above The Stag Theatre.

Nottingham born, Su Pollard is an actress, singer, writer and comedienne. In a career spanning forty years she has had success in theatre, television, music and writing.

PETER BULL

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Peter is artistic director of Above The Stag Theatre.

He produced all the ATS in house productions in Victoria, notably BLINK!, Dangerous, Boys Plays, The Choir, American Briefs, The Irish Curse, Bathhouse The Musical, Seduction, Busted Jesus Comix, Silence! The Musical, Maurice, My Beautiful Laundrette, Sleeping With Straight Men and of course the annual panto. He also directed American Briefs, Seduction and Extra Virgin (the second half of Boys Plays).

In the USA he has directed productions for the Players Theatre New York, Spiral Theatre Milwaukee and Bailiwick Repertory Chicago as well as working with Mark Hooker on the infamous Milwaukee production of Naked Boys Singing! He was associate producer of SHOUT! The Swinging 60s Musical (Chicago, West End, UK tour).

TOM MCGREGOR

GENERAL MANAGER

Tom joined Above The Stag Theatre in November 2013. As General Manager, Tom oversees day-to-day operations, designs and manages the website and works to establish and maintain relationships with patrons, local businesses and donors.

As well as his position at Above The Stag Theatre, Tom runs lifestyle promotions company I AM SOHO. He works directly with Academy Award winners, stars of stage and screen, recording artists, fashion designers, West End venues and international lifestyle brands.

ANDREW BECKETT

Associate Director/Production Manager

Andrew has worked as an actor, director and designer in theatre and television. He is Associate director for Above The Stag Theatre where his work includes directing the last four pantomimes as well as Alright Bitches!, The Boys Upstairs, You Should Be So Lucky and The Gay Naked Play. He has directed numerous classics for the Paul Taylor-Mills Repertory Seasons at the Theatre Royal Windsor and Sidmouth, including Private Lives, Abigail’s Party, Joking Apart and The Ghost Train, and this year starred as Francis Henshall in One Man, Two Guvnors. Andrew was Artistic Director of B.P.A.C. Youth Theatre, based in Bristol, for 5 years and resident director for the Urban Project Exchange between the UK and Ireland 2 years running.

JACK BOWMAN

MARKETING MANAGER

Jack has been part of the Above The Stag team since 2014 and was previously the Promotions & Marketing Manager at AKA Promotions Ltd for 5 years where he created specialist promotional and marketing campaigns for West End shows including Jersey Boys, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Motown the Musical and Billy Elliot the Musical as well as working on campaigns from the National Theatre to West End Bares.

Jack has been involved in fringe theatre groups and regional venues for a number of years, sitting on the creative team for Completely Productions where he was involved in their productions of Spring Awakening (2010), tick, tick…BOOM! (2012) and made his producing debut with a successful run of Songs For A New World in London in 2013. Not to always hide behind the scenes Jack has also been in front of the camera and can be seen (if you don’t blink!) in Hope and Glory, Boy StoryMore Than a Job’s Worth, Made in Chelsea and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.

JON BRADFIELD

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Jon has designed the publicity for most of ATS’s shows, and the theatre’s branding. He has undertaken marketing and design work for a range of theatre, music and dance and is Marketing Manager at Out of Joint. With Martin Hooper, Jon has written seven pantomimes for Above The Stag, the drama A Hard Rain which was also produced in New York in 2015, and the forthcoming Get ‘Em Off. He has had work staged at the King’s Head and Canal Café Theatre.

KATHERINE IVES

TRUSTEE

Katherine is the Director at Lauderdale House – an arts and education centre in Highgate North London with a turnover of £300k to £400k per annum; a footfall of 65,000. It is a company limited by guarantee registered as a charity. It is open to the public for performances, children’s theatre classes, educational projects, exhibitions and events 354 days a year, 11.5 hours per day. Currently focussing on a £1,800,000 capital project of which they have raised £1,300,000 to date. She leads the programming and instituted the House’s first LGBT art competition 12 years ago, Pride in the House, and which continues to run annually.

She also runs her own Theatre PR/Producing company. She has also produced her own shows at numerous small scale venues in London, and has done PR and press for a variety of clients, including for the past 3 years The Merry Opera Company.

She is a Board member of charitable theatre company Pursued by a Bear which tours new writing and also of Musical Theatre Network for whom she helped secure new Arts Council RFO (regularly funded organisation) status.

Before moving into arts management Katherine was a solicitor for 12 years in the City and West End specialising in charity, pensions and private client law.

GAZ

PRODUCTION PHOTOGRAPHER

Gaz has been a photographer for over 30 years and has been extensively published in many books, calendars, magazines and online as well as in successful advertising campaigns and promotions world wide.

His Theatre work has included productions for Above the Stag, West End productions and casts from Kinky Boots to Les Miserables, Miss Saigon to Mamma Mia, as well as many actors head shots and promotions for film and TV.

He has for many years been happy to support the Make a Difference Trust and West End Bares and his on going portrait project SingOut! last year helped raise awareness during anti bullying week for the Diversity Role Models charity, with it’s powerful portraits of the LGBT talent in Musical Theatre.
